ENDING CONFLICT IN THE HOLY LAND: WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP

CLEVELAND—Warren Clark, executive director of Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) leads this Sept. 17 workshop from 9 a.m.–Noon at Trinity Cathedral. CMEP encourages U.S. government policies that actively promote a just, lasting and comprehensive resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Goals of the workshop include: increased knowledge about current events affecting the conflict; understanding lobbying efforts occurring in the U.S. Congress and Administration toward supporting a fair, economically viable and secure peace for both Israel and Palestine; beginning a collaborative advocacy network in Northern Ohio; and guidance about conducting meetings with legislators.

The Trinity Commons parking lot entrance is on Prospect Avenue at East 22nd Street. Overflow parking is available in the Cleveland State University Prospect garage.

About Warren Clark:
Warren Clark became Executive Director of CMEP in January, 2008. Ambassador Clark was a career U.S. Foreign Service officer in the Department of State, serving in the Middle East, Europe, Canada, Africa and at the United Nations. He worked on Middle East oil price negotiations and represented the United States on the UN Security Council for Middle East and African issues. He led a study group on the Middle East at the Institute of Politics of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Warren also has a masters degree in theological studies from Virginia Theological Seminary. He worked on international programs at the Washington National Cathedral and chaired the Commission on Peace for the Episcopal Diocese of Washington.
