Peace Show

09/01/2008 - 10:00am
09/01/2008 - 6:00pm

The Peace Show's premise is that "nonviolence works, war doesn't" and is the Cleveland Nonviolence Network's way of responding, with an intergenerationally friendly and inclusive event, to the militaristic exhibit of war planes as entertainment at the Cleveland National Air Show. Although CNVN started as a result of the Cleveland Catholic Worker community's long standing work to remove the militaristic component of the Air Show, the Peace Show group has become an all inclusive gathering of religious as well as secular peacemakers, as individuals and groups, from across northeast Ohio. Among our participants and sponsors are CNVN, Artist for Peace, AFSC, Eyes Wide Open, Buddhist Peace Fellowship, Cleveland Peace Action, NOAC, Peace Tax Fund, Veterans for Peace, CAIR, Greater Cleveland Immigrant Support Network, Cleveland Catholic Worker Community, St Paul's Community Church, C-Space, Pax Christi and others.
